alignment Measurement Ended as Markings Moved Beyond Laser Guides

The Vector was positioned where the detected markings moved outside the laser guides.
Vector projects a laser arrangement for assisting alignment when scanning.

Considerations

If Measurement ended unexpectedly and this indicator is active, consider the following causes:

  1. The markings moved beyond the top laser

    1. Check the Vector is positioned to best practice.

In particular, check the bottom laser is just below the base of the markings.
See section on Vector Lasers Not Aligned to Specimen for more information.
    2. Ensure that markings remain within top and bottom lasers when specimen is at full extension.

  1. The markings moved beyond the bottom laser

For test frames with a moving bottom crosshead, lower the Vector whilst keeping the bottom laser as close as possible to the base of the markings. See Vector Aligned Too Low.

  2. The markings moved extremely to the left or right of the central laser

Check the arrangement of grips and fixtures to limit travel.

Information

info

For test frames with a moving bottom crosshead, it may not be possible to position Vector with enough travel without introducing an amber warning for “Vector Aligned Too Low”. In this case it can be ignored.

If the central laser is not aligned with the line of load, remove Vector from its mount and adjust the orientation of the UTM rail.
