dim Markings Indistinct

The markings are not of sufficient contrast to measure. This may be caused by poorly applied markings, or by incorrect choice of pen/ink colour when marking the specimen.

Solutions

  1. Check that the markings have been applied as per the Marking Guide.

Clean and reapply markings aligned to the specimen. In particular, ensure the specimen is clean and free from grease prior to marking and that the correct colour of pen/ink has been used. In some cases a contrasting basecoat may be required.
See Specimen Marking for more information.
  2. Reposition Vector closer to the specimen.

Position Vector closer to the specimen, up to the near limit. See Positioning Vector for more information.

Information

Allow markings to dry before use and prevent excessive touching of the markings during specimen installation

Information

After moving the module or specimen, wait a few seconds for warning indicators to settle.
