Vector not Vertical to Specimen
The angle of the markings on the specimen is not aligned to the Vector. Can be caused by:
Markings poorly applied, or
Specimen rotated infront of Vector, or
Vector incorrectly mounted to the test frame.
Misalignment can result in an error in the test results.
Solutions
Reposition the specimen straight in the grips against the grip faces.
With all markings, a specimen should be set in the grips such that the reduced section is parallel to the line of load.
Check that the markings have been applied as per the Marking Guide.
Clean and reapply markings aligned to the specimen. In particular, check markings are parallel to the reduced section of the specimen.See Specimen Marking for more information.
Adjust the Vector mounting system to be aligned to the line of load at the UTM Rail.
If in the case where the markings and specimen are aligned to the line of load yet the central laser from Vector is not, remove Vector from its mount and adjust the orientation of the UTM rail.
Reposition the specimen and loadtrain equal distance from Vector.
Check the specimen is straight and flat. For lapped specimen, ensure the marks are flush. The specimen face should be parallel to Vector, with markings the same distance from Vector.
Information
Lapped specimens may cause this warning light, as the markings are at different distances from Vector.
